The primary solution would be the GrassProtecta Medium and the GrassProtecta Heavy. Both are designed to take the weight of a car, but the choice of grade is all down to the ground / local conditions and amount of use.
If the ground is sandy, drains well, is well grassed and is generally flat and even, then the medium grade is likely to work well. Also, if the area is likely to be sparingly used and / or in the warmer months of the year, then the medium grade is likely to be the best choice.
If the ground is a standard clay / sandy loam, drains well, flat, and even, the heavy grade is likely to be the correct choice for all year-round use. The heavy grade will give the strongest footprint which is especially required in winter. Also, if the vehicle is 2 tonnes to 7.5 tonnes, then again, the heavy grade would be the appropriate choice.
The correct product for car parking on a gravel driveway, that would be secure, long lasting and need very little maintenance, is a gravel filled permeable cellular grid like Bodpave 40. Bodpave 40, when installed correctly, has been designed to hold gravel well, and to resist the damaging effects of the twisting and turning of cars. All permeable cellular grids like Bodpave 40, need a hardcore base to support the grid. Bodpave 40 has been designed to work well either with current hardcore so an existing driveway can be upgraded or on a new driveway. Full installation and specification guidelines are available on the Grassmats website.
Either the GrassProtecta Medium or GrassProtecta Heavy is the correct choice. For both options, the ground, preferably, should be fully grassed, have reasonable drainage and be flat and even. For events that are mainly in the warmer months and the use expected to be light, then GrassProtecta Medium is likely to work well. GrassProtecta Heavy is the regular choice when the anticipated use of the car park is going to be all year round. GrassProtecta heavy will give an improved performance on the colder wetter days the mesh. This is because GrassProtecta heavy will give the strongest footprint and the greatest depth of grass entanglement giving stronger capabilities and so is likely to work to expectations. For larger sites it is strongly advised that contact is made with Grassmats Technical. Grassmats offer site visits to confirm suitability.
To be able to park on grass or a grass verge, keep the grass, and neutralize the damaging effects of a moving car, GrassProtecta is the usual choice. The GrassProtecta Medium is the best choice when the need to park is only in the warmer months or the need is infrequent and light. When the need for parking can be intense or all year round, the GrassProtecta heavy is generally the correct choice.
Depending on ground conditions, how much use the proposed car park is going to have and what time of the year the car park is going to be used, either GrassProtecta Heavy or Bodpave will be the solution. Also, the size if the car park will influence the solution.
If ground conditions are good, the site is not being used every day and the use is mainly in the summer for then GrassProtecta is the likely answer. The access / reversing aisles in GrassProtecta and the parking spaces left without cover.
If the car park is going to be used throughout the year, and most days then a Grass Permeable Grid like Bodpave 85 should be considered. It is advised contact is made with Grassmats technical to discuss options.
