A cellular paving grid can be used to create either a grass or gravel filled surface. Our Bodpave and Truckpave cellular paving systems can be used to aid ground stabilisation in areas where heavy vehicles may be parked or even in landscaping projects. When filled with gravel, pavers can be used to form access tracks, driveways and accessible walkways. With a very low carbon footprint, cellular pavers are a sustainable and permeable ground reinforcement solution – they are also SuDS compliant, and rarely need planning permission.

Key Uses for Bodpave 40

Overflow Car ParksFor a permeable porous car park that is likely to be used sparingly or intermittently the 40mm paver is likely to be the correct choice.  You still have a hardwearing paver, but overall costs are reduced both on material costs and spill removal costs.
Gravel Pedestrian WalkwaysFilled with a 5mm to 10mm angular gravel the 40mm porous paver will create a hardwearing walkway.  This can be done – depending on ground conditions – with or without a hardcore base.

Gravel Car ParksThe structure and shape of the gravel grid has been constructed to cope with everyday use. This coupled with a unique selected blend of recycled plastics, made to make the gravel grid very robust, makes it ideal for hard working permeable commercial car parks.
Gravel Access RoadsAny access road made from cellular permeable grids needs to be able resist higher dynamic loadings because of the often-increased speed of the traffic.  The Bod Paving 85 has been designed with integral locating spikes that has built to keep the gravel grid non-moving, locked, and long-lasting even under pressure
Grass Car ParkingWhen used to construct grass parking bays, the main problems using a grass permeable paver, are drought, lack of growing depth and grass root entanglement with the grass permeable paver.  Bod-paving 85 has unique built-in designs to counteract these problems.  For the drought there are water catchment trays within each cell to retain moisture.  For the lack of growing depth, the integral spikes are 35mm long allowing a extra thick bedding without losing stability.  And for grass root entanglement – to help the stability and resist deformation – the moulded shape encourages grass entrapment and protection of the roots.

How long do plastic pavers last?If they're installed correctly and are not subject to excessive force or use, the anticipated lifespan of Bodpave 85 is 25 years. The anticipated lifespan of Bodpave 40 is 10 years.
Can you use pavers for a driveway?Yes, Bodpave 40 is suitable for driveways and residential lawn parking.
What base do I need to lay Bodpave on?Bodpave needs to be installed on a well-prepared, firm sub-base (e.g., compacted stone/gravel). You can then filled with either gravel or grass finish depending on your requirement. 

For gravel applications, the corresponding “Installation on Gravel Specification” document provides the detailed base and bedding layer requirements. For use with grass, please follow the advice laid out in the 'Installation with grass fill' specification.
Who makes Bodpave?The Bodpave systems are manufactured in the UK by Terram from 100% recycled UV-stabilised polymers.
Is a Bodpave driveway cheaper than concrete or slabs?Using Bodpave is more cost effective and environmentally friendly than concrete.
Which pavers do I need?If you are planning to park vehicles on a driveway, Bodpave is the best choice. If you're parking HGVs and similar then Truckpave is required.

Truckpave FAQ's

How long does Truckpave 80 last?If it is installed correctly and is not subject to excessive force or use, the anticipated lifespan of Truckpave 80 is 25 years plus.
What weight does Truckpave support?The maximum axle load is 20 tonnes. The compressive strength of Truckpave is over 1,500 tonnes per square meter.  It is made to handle vehicles like HGV trucks, Fire Appliances and Forklifts.
What is Truckpave made from?Truckpave is entirely made from industrial waste plastics.
Which pavers do I need?If you are planning to park vehicles on a driveway, Bodpave is the best choice. If you're parking HGVs and similar then Truckpave is required.
