For parking areas with heavy duty needs, we recommend our Bodpave solutions. They can be filled with either a grass or gravel to meet your unique requirements. For a driveway, we would suggest that having a gravel filled surface for durability, the open cell structure of Bodpave is also a recognised SuDS compliant solution, making it ideal for a long-lasting parking solution. You can also use white markers to mark out parking bays on your Bodpave.

Why use Bodpave instead of just gravel?Bodpave provides a stabilised grid structure that retains the gravel, prevents rutting and displacement, supports vehicle loads, and allows for a clean, durable surface rather than loose stones.
Will it be strong enough to hold my van?Yes. Bodpave 85 has a load bearing capacity of up to 400 tonnes per m² and is designed for vehicle use, while Bodpave 40 supports lighter vehicles (e.g., 250 tonnes per m²) when properly installed.
What type and size of gravel is the best for Bodpave?We recommend using mixed size, sharp, angular gravel between 5-20mm. We would strongly suggest that rounded gravel is not used as the fill.
What fill material is best for a driveway?Fill to the top with the angular gravel 4mm - 20mm in a mixed size. A light vibrating compactor can be used to compact this and lock it in.
Will water still be able to drain away?Yes. The open cell structure of Bodpave allows surface water to infiltrate through a permeable gravel/sub-base, reducing pooling and supporting sustainable drainage (SuDS) compliant designs.
Can I mark parking bays?Specially designed line markers are available for Bodpave systems that can be snapped into the cells to mark our parking bays or lanes.
What maintenance will be required?Occasional topping up or brushing of the gravel may be required if it is overspilling the grid.
