What are the benefits of stable mats?Our stable mats provide cushioning for your horse’s joints and hooves, reduce bedding costs, improve safety through slip-resistant surfaces and simplify cleaning. They are also made from recycled rubber for a more sustainable solution.
Which texture of mat is best for my stable?We offer a range of durable rubber mats with textures such as bubble‑top, cobble‑top, diamond-top and amoebic‑top. Bubble‑top gives excellent grip and comfort for standing horses. Cobble‑top provides a decorative pattern with good traction. Amoebic‑top is flatter and easier to clean, ideal if you prefer a smoother finish with strong slip resistance.
How do I prepare the base for installing stable matting?Ensure the stable floor is clean and level, remove debris or other material that can be moved, and check that drainage is good. Then lay the mats directly onto the prepared surface so that the drainage ridges are on the floor, and the texture is facing upwards.
Can stable mats shift, and how do I prevent that?Mats should not shift significantly due to the weight. If you are concerned about shifting, ensure that the mats fit tightly in your space.
How do I clean stable mats?Simply remove loose bedding and manure, then hose or power‑wash the mats. The non‑porous rubber surface is designed to resist moisture, simplify the cleaning and maintenance process.
Will I still require bedding alongside the stable mats?Yes, however the mats significantly reduce the volume of bedding needed because they provide cushioning and insulation. You can adjust bedding levels to ensure comfort for your horse.
