Grass Mats

Grass mats or grass reinforcement mesh?Generally this is a nice simple question and depends on one thing – vehicle use. If you are looking to protect the ground from pedestrian use and animals, we always recommend the rubber grass mats due to their thickness and the level of protection that they provide.

When vehicles are involved, and tyres are likely to be turning over the area you are looking to protect, we generally recommend the plastic ground reinforcement mesh. If it is a case of a vehicle going in a nice straight line over the top of the product, the mats would be fine, but any turning could cause the rubber to tear.

What are the differences between gateway mats, pathway mats, rubber mats and playground safety mats? The short answer is that there are not any differences. These mats are referred to by different names across various industries and we want to make sure we are catching all possible target audiences and tracking their ultimate use. It shows how versatile the mats are, as they can be used for so many different reasons.

Do you sell rolls or just mats?We have a variety of 22mm grass mat rolls: 1m x 7.5m, 1m x 10m and 1.5m x 7.5m. We also sell a 1m x 10m 16mm grass mat roll. We recommend these rolls when you want to cut down installation time, as you do not need to tie each mat together with cable ties.

The rolls are perfect for walkways, whereas the mats are better for bulk areas and give you more flexibility when working around corners.

Grass Reinforcement Mesh

Grass mats or grass reinforcement mesh? Please see the Grass Mats section above where we answer this question in more detail. In short, if vehicles are going to be driven over the top, we generally recommend grass reinforcement mesh.

How thick should the mesh be?This largely depends on the type of use and how regularly the product will be used.

The heavy duty version of the mesh should be used for regular day-to-day use and for larger or heavier vehicles.

Please see more details on the product page itself regarding the types of vehicle that the mesh is unsuitable for, such as tractors and forklift trucks, or vehicles and loads weighing in excess of 7.5 tonnes.

Do I need any fixings, pegs or pins?Fixings are needed to secure the mesh flush to the ground. We sell metal U-pins that help keep the mesh down so the grass can grow through the product and provide the necessary support for it to be used effectively. The number of pins required depends on the size of roll, and our recommendation is shown on the product page.

Gym Mats

Which gym mat is right for me?We have four main options of gym mats.

Home coloured gym tiles are our thinnest mats at 10mm, but they are the most aesthetic option. They are ideal for home gyms, gentle exercises and lightweight machines or weights.

Solid top gym mats are 16mm mats, with 12mm of rubber and a 4mm underside bobble. These are one of our most popular products as they are affordable per m².

Interlocking gym tiles are available as 50cm x 50cm tiles or 1m x 1m mega tiles. They are 17mm thick and are a durable option for gym and garage flooring.

Can the gym mats be cut?The mats are supplied in the measurements listed on the website, but they can be cut to size to achieve a flush fit once installed. Customers often cut the jigsaw-style pieces off the interlocking gym tiles so they can sit flush against a wall.

The thinner mats can usually be cut with a sharp Stanley knife blade. For the heavy duty mat, we recommend a tool such as a hacksaw or circular blade. It can be cut with a Stanley knife, but it may take a while.

Do you offer ramped edging to eliminate trip hazards?Yes. There are different edging pieces available to fit each style of mat and full details can be found on the specific product page.

Can I use these mats in a home garage?Yes. Although these mats are marketed for gym use, they are also suitable for garages and sheds. The mats are also used in warehouses due to their anti-fatigue properties.

Can I use the mats outside? We do not typically recommend gym mats for outdoor use, other than the straight edge heavy duty gym mats.

Some customers have used them outside and have been happy with them, but on rare occasions, the combination of rain, sunlight and temperature changes can cause the rubber to expand and contract, creating pressure where mats interlock together.

Do the mats contain any EVA foam? No. Whilst EVA foam tiles are typically cheaper, we do not believe they make for a good quality mat. Our mats are made from a combination of natural and recycled rubber, which makes them much more durable than plastic or EVA foam mats.

Do I need any adhesive to stick the mats to the floor? No. Due to the weight of the mats, adhesive is not usually necessary.

Delivery

Can I collect my order?Yes. All of our products are available for collection from our warehouse in Congleton, Cheshire. Select the collection option at checkout and we will be in touch to confirm when it is suitable to visit us on site.

Whilst we aim to mark products temporarily out of stock as soon as we are running low or have sold out, collection customers are welcome to contact us in advance so we can confirm availability and reserve stock where possible.

How do you calculate delivery charges? Our delivery calculator is variable and depends on the type and quantity of mats ordered.

Small orders are generally sent as parcel deliveries and there is a fixed charge per parcel. Due to the size and weight of the mats, the cost is higher than you may normally expect from smaller online orders.

Larger orders are normally sent on pallets and the price depends on the delivery postcode. The majority of mainland UK has the same pallet charge, with additional charges for locations such as the Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland and remote areas.

Do you offer tracking services? Our parcel couriers should provide updates and tracking as soon as we book an order with them.

Pallet deliveries cannot usually be tracked live and we are unable to guarantee specific delivery dates, but we can help track down deliveries where required. For specific requests such as booked windows, AM/PM deliveries or a book-in service, these are available upon request for a surcharge.

How do I unload the mats if I am expecting a palletised delivery?Pallet deliveries are typically delivered on a 7.5 tonne truck through the pallet network.

We request that pallet deliveries are made on a truck with a tail-lift facility. The driver can unload the pallet from the back of the truck and use a pump truck to wheel it to the kerbside.

As standard, pallet delivery is kerbside only. The driver may be able to move the pallet to a more convenient location if access and conditions allow, but this is not guaranteed. You will be responsible for unpacking the pallet and disposing of it once unloaded.

What are standard lead times?Almost all orders are dispatched either the same working day or next working day from receipt of order.

Parcel deliveries are usually delivered the next working day after dispatch.

Pallet deliveries are usually delivered 2–3 working days from the date of dispatch.

Can we deliver outside UK mainland?Yes. We have a delivery partner that can deliver across Europe. Please get in touch for a quote.
