Grass reinforcement mesh 2m x 20m (Lite 10mm grade) is designed for light pedestrian use and occasional light vehicle loading on established grassed areas. Manufactured from UV-stabilised green HDPE, this grass reinforcement mesh reinforces natural turf while allowing grass to grow through and integrate with the mesh structure.
The wider 2 metre format and extended 20 metre length make it ideal for longer access routes and larger surface areas with fewer joins, while maintaining a discreet, permeable and slip-resistant finish.
Lite 10mm mesh is suitable for pedestrian traffic and very occasional light vehicle use in well-drained conditions, typically during drier months. It is not intended for regular car parking or year-round vehicle loading.
How It Works
This 2m x 20m grass reinforcement mesh is installed directly onto existing grass. As the turf grows, the grass roots intertwine with the open mesh structure, reinforcing the surface and distributing loads more evenly.
The permeable design allows air and water to reach the root zone, helping to reduce surface damage and soil compaction when used within its intended parameters.
It may also be installed onto newly seeded areas, although traffic should only be introduced once the grass has fully established during the growing season.
Installation
The mesh must be securely pinned to the ground using steel fixing pins. We recommend approximately 150 steel pins per 2m x 20m roll.

Wheel stoppers can also be ordered separately here.
Manufacture & Durability
- Manufactured in the UK by Terram
- UV stabilised HDPE
- Chemically and pH neutral
- Expected lifespan of 20+ years when correctly installed and used within design limits
Grass reinforcement mesh is frequently specified within SuDS-compliant schemes where a permeable surface solution is required.

Graham (verified owner) –
Grassmats been down a week, has stopped foxes digging holes in our new lawn and grass has already pretty much grown through and started to hide the mats. I did purchase some additional u pins to make the mat tight to the grass – during this heatwave the mats have stretched a bit but note that this is to be expected in hot weather before the grass fully meshes with the net. Overall, happy with the purchase and help received
