Grass walkways are an incredibly easy way to make grassed areas accessible – and they can also have a natural look to maintain the beauty of the outdoor space. Our grass mats and turf reinforcement mesh can be used to create walkways where grass can continue to grow, minimise the mud caused by heavy foot traffic and grass wear can be reduced. Grass Walkways FAQs

How do I stop an outdoor footpath from becoming muddy?All of our walkway products are designed specifically for use on grass to prevent muddy areas developing. Our matting and mesh allows grass to continue to grow while preventing the mud churn that is developed with heavy foot traffic.
Can I create a wheelchair accessible pathway?All of the above products are safe for wheelchair use.
Which product will make the best path?In terms of the amount of protection that you will get, then the thicker the material the better. So, our 22mm rubber matting is often the best solution. These mats are also available in rolls, which can significantly reduce installation time.
How do I install these products?All of our products have installation guides which can be found on the individual product listings.

Solution #1: Individual Rubber Grass Mats

Our rubber matting is by far the best product for walkways, given their thickness of 16mm or 22mm. The mats are traditionally placed on top of grass, with the circular holes allowing grass to grow through, but can also be placed over other surfaces such as sand or gravel. Both variants of our mats come in a 1.5m x 1.0m size, and can easily be laid length or width ways depending on how wide you would like your pathway!

Solution #2: Rubber Grass Mat Rolls

Our grass mat rolls are a new product of ours and are just like the individual rubber mats, but come in a roll form. It makes them even easier to install as far less cable ties are needed to try and connect the individual mats together! Cable ties are only recommended if you are trying to join multiple rolls.

Solution #3: Grass Reinforcement Mesh

We also have a wide range of Grass Reinforcement Mesh which can offer a more affordable solution for walkways in certain uses. However, we generally recommend the rubber matting for walkway use for its increased thickness, providing added protection on soft ground or for regular traffic.

Which product is the best to use?In terms of the amount of protection that you will get, then the thicker the material the better. So we would suggest our 22mm rubber matting is the ultimate solution.

Whether that is individual mats or rolls is then a question of convenience. The rolls can cut down on the installation time, as well as significantly reducing the number of cable ties required to link the mats together.
How do I install these products?All of our products should have installation guides which can be found on the product pages themselves.

How long does delivery take?We stock all of our items in Congleton, Cheshire. Standard (3-5 working days) and premium delivery (1-2 working day) options are available and we look to dispatch all products either same day, or next working day – depending on the time the order is received.

All products are also available to collect directly from our warehouse, just select the collection option at checkout and we will then contact you to arrange the collection.
