What type of matting is suitable around a pool or hot tub?For domestic pool and hot tub surrounds, choose matting designed to improve grip and allow water to drain away. Our 10mm Anti Slip Matting Roll is the most relevant option for flat, stable surfaces. The matting improves traction but cannot remove all slip risk, so the underlying surface must remain level, secure and well drained.
Can the matting be used in or under a pool or hot tub?No. The products on this page are intended for surrounding walkways and adjacent surface areas, not for continuous immersion or as a structural base beneath a filled pool or hot tub. The supporting base must be designed for the equipment load.
Which product should I choose?Use the Anti Slip Matting Roll for longer wet walkways and hard-surface surrounds. Rubber grass mats may suit outdoor grassed routes leading to a pool or hot tub where drainage and lawn protection are required. Interlocking rubber tiles should only be considered for dry or sheltered adjacent areas after checking the product-specific suitability.
How should wet-area matting be installed?Install matting on a clean, flat and stable surface, ensuring water can drain away and the edges do not create a trip hazard. Cut and secure the product in accordance with its installation instructions. Contact us before ordering for an unusual surface, commercial pool environment or area exposed to pool chemicals.

Solution #1: Anti-Slip Matting Rolls

Our 10mm Anti Slip Matting Roll is the primary option for wet walkways and hard-surface areas around domestic pools and hot tubs. The textured rubber surface helps improve traction, while the 10m x 0.9m roll can be cut to fit longer routes and larger areas with fewer joins.

It must be installed on a flat, stable substrate with suitable drainage. It is not designed for use inside a pool, continuous immersion or as a structural base beneath a hot tub.

Solution #2: Rubber Grass Mats

Rubber grass mats can help protect outdoor lawns and grassed paths leading to a pool or hot tub. Their open structure allows water to drain and grass to grow through, making them useful where repeated foot traffic is wearing or churning established grass.

These mats are for ground protection rather than specialist poolside flooring. They should be secured over reasonably firm, level ground and are not suitable for supporting the weight of a filled pool or hot tub.

Solution #3: Rubber Tiles for Dry Adjacent Areas

Interlocking rubber tiles may provide a durable, easy-to-clean surface in dry or sheltered areas beside a hot tub, such as a covered changing or utility space. They are not presented as specialist poolside flooring and should not be assumed suitable for continuous water exposure, chlorine or other pool chemicals.

Please check the relevant product specification or contact us before using rubber tiles in a wet or chemically treated environment.

Product FAQs

Is this matting chlorine resistant?We do not currently make a blanket chlorine-resistance claim across the products on this page. Suitability depends on the product, chemical concentration and exposure. Contact us with details of the proposed environment before ordering for a chlorinated or commercial pool area.
Can the matting stay outside all year?Some products are designed for outdoor use, but the substrate, drainage, exposure and installation method all affect performance. Follow the guidance on the individual product page and inspect the matting regularly for movement, damage or raised edges.
How long does delivery take?We stock all of our items in Congleton, Cheshire. Standard (3-5 working days) and premium delivery (1-2 working day) options are available and we look to dispatch all products either same day, or next working day – depending on the time the order is received.

All products are also available to collect directly from our warehouse, just select the collection option at checkout and we will then contact you to arrange the collection.

Improved Grip

Textured rubber matting can improve traction on wet or smooth surfaces when correctly installed and maintained. It cannot eliminate all slip risk.
