Uses for light 10mm grade (1m x 10m) often include:
- Pedestrian walkways and disabled access over grass for light use or summer use only;
- Paths for wheelchair access; and
- For small dog running trails and protection against digging
The Grass Reinforcement mesh from Grassmats is specifically made to be set down on top of already existing grass. It permits the use of the grass for activities that ordinarily would not be taken into account, due to highly likely unacceptable levels of damage.
The mesh’s structure and specifically chosen plastics have been created in such a way as to allow full entanglement with the existing grass, creating a significantly stronger non-slip wearing surface. This enables the grassed surface to be permanently resistant to damage and rutting within the mesh’s operating range.
The mesh also significantly lessens soil compaction, which enables grass roots to live by obtaining air and water.
Freshly prepared and planted areas can also use the mesh, however this requires some time for the grass structure to strengthen enough. Typically, this is the growing season.
The mesh requires fixing to the grass surface and can be supplied with 170mmx 70mm x 170mm 6mm bar steel pins. We recommend 50 pins for a 1m x 10m roll.
The UV-resistant Grassmats Reinforcement is manufactured in the UK in accordance with ISO production standards. It is chemically neutral and PH neutral.
The mesh has an anticipated lifespan of up to 20 years plus when installed correctly and used properly.
Typically, grass reinforcement mesh does not need a permit.
