Gym Mat FAQs

Which gym mat is right for me?Solid top gym mats – these 16mm mats are 10mm of rubber with a 6mm underside bobble and are our most affordable option.

Interlocking gym tiles – these are available as 50cm x 50cm tiles or 1m x 1m mega tiles, are 15mm thick and are incredibly durable.

Heavy duty gym mats - these are our largest and most heavy-duty options, at 1.83m x 1.22m (6ft by 4ft) and manufactured from solid rubber, these are often used for deadlift stations or as a base for heavy machinery.

Can the gym mats be cut?Our mats can be cut to size to ensure a flush fit once they've been installed. Customers often cut the jigsaw type pieces off the interlocking gym tiles so that they can sit flush against a wall.

Thinner mats can easily be cut with a stanley knife, but for heavy duty mats we recommend a tool such as a hack-saw or circular blade.

Do you offer ramped edging to eliminate trip hazards? We do for our interlocking mats. However, our straight edge mats are designed to be placed flush against each other so do not have edging pieces available.

Can I use these mats in a home garage?Yes these mats, although marked for gym use, are also perfect for garages and sheds. They are also used in warehouses due to their anti-fatigue properties.

Can I use the mats outside? We don’t typically recommend our gym mats for outdoor use, other than the straight edge heavy duty gym mats. Changing weather conditions and temperatures can cause slight expansion and contraction of the mats, which can put stress on the joins of the interlocking mats.

Do the mats contain any EVA foam? No. Whilst EVA foam tiles are typically cheaper, we don’t believe they make for a good quality mat. Our mats are all made from a combination of natural and recycled rubber which makes them much more durable than plastic and EVA foam mats.

Do I need any adhesive to stick the mats to the floor? No. Due to the weight of the mats, adhesive is not needed.

Customer Review

★★★★★

“Good quality solid mats that, while strong, are not as hard as I'd feared. I'm using some indoors and some outdoors and they work well. The indoor ones i'm using on a concrete floor to soften the flooring into a home gym set up.”
