Introduction

Paws in the Paddock have an enclosed play area on grass for all breeds of dogs. It was initially a small dairy farm with a few beef cattle until circumstances changed, and they sold the herd of dairy cows but continued with the beef.

They have a lovely paddock that was always used to exercise their own dogs but came up with the idea to hire it out so that others can enjoy it too.

To allow all year-round use, protection and reinforcement was required to stop the grass becoming worn and muddy and to deter digging by the dogs. Also, the reinforced area needed to stay as grass and be dog paw friendly. Also the area needed to allow all breeds and all sizes of dogs to play there.

Solution

To solve the problem, Paws in the Paddock went with Grassmats Grass Reinforcement Medium mesh.  The Grass Reinforcement has been designed to entangle with grass and to allow mowing as required.  After entanglement the mesh becomes lost from view trapped in the grass and so protecting the grass root structure.

Benefits

Paws in the Paddock now have an enclosed grassed play area that can be used all year round. The installation of the Grassmats Grass Reinforcement needed no extra drainage and so incurred no unnecessary costs.
