Ground Protection for Motorhome Storage

Requirement: 120m2 Reinforcement for Grass to Allow Parking of Motor Home.

Issue 

Our customer wanted to park their motorhome off their driveway in an outhouse. 

They wanted to keep the grass, keep the costs down and be able to use the motorhome throughout the year.  Also, they did not want to install a product that needed planning permission.

Solution

The customer used Grass Reinforcement Heavy supplied by Grassmats.  This was decided after taking into consideration soil and drainage conditions and the expected frequency of use.  Once the Grass Reinforcement becomes entangled with the grass, it would become almost invisible. 

The mesh will protect the grass root structure and support the expected frequency of movements of the motorhome. 

The matting did not need planning and was installed over a weekend by the customer.

Benefits

Our customer now has a reinforced trustworthy access route for their motorhome that allows all year-round use. 

The grass will still look like a lawn and will not incur damage when the motorhomes is moving.  The Grass Reinforcement Mesh was installed for a fraction of the cost that a traditional tarmac or gravel route would have cost. 

There was also no extra drainage requirements and no planning difficulties.  The grass route is very much in keeping with the surroundings and the long-term ethos of the customer.
