Issue 

As a registered charity, The Diana Brimblecombe Animal Rescue Centre is always looking for ways to increase income.  One way is to hold fund raising events.   There are areas of existing grass within the Centre grounds that had been used to handle the extra parking needed during the events.  The problem with using the grass areas for parking is that the events are limited to the warmer months and at the mercy of the weather.  The Centre wanted a solution that would allow all round events to be held – especially at Christmas – at the same time, the costs incurred in providing the extra parking needed to be realistic and cost effective.   Also, the solution needed to keep the grass, to be able to be used for dog training and produce no extra water runoff that needed drainage works.

Solution

To solve the problem, The Centre went with the Grass Reinforcement Heavy installed by Grassmats.     Once the Grass Reinforcement had become entangled with the grass, it would become almost invisible.  The matting was installed by the Grassmats install team in two days.

Benefits

The Centre now have a reinforced grass car parking area which can be used all year round when required.   The grass park will allow events to go ahead when planned and allow extra events throughout the year.  The area can now also be used for dog training throughout the year.  The installation of the Grassmats Grass Reinforcement needed no extra drainage as it is fully porous and so reducing costs.  No planning was required and The Centre have a grass car park that is very much in keeping with the area and the charities ethos.
